yanking multiple lines of text

A newbie here. How do I yank, say, 407 lines of text? Any help would be
appreciated!

You yank them the same way you yank a single line. You can cut out 407
lines of text by:

alt+407 ctrl+k

as long as we're being pedantic, the usual Emacs way to write keystrokes
is C-u 407 C-k.
