Hi Kevin,

I had a thought this morning for those of us who aren't quite as
fortunate to have iPhones... It would be cool if there was even some
rudimentary support for exporting the balances of buckets and accounts
to a text file, so that i could put that onto my iPod to take with me.
I'm hoping that may not be too difficult a task! Ideally it would be
able to sync with the iPod automagically when it is plugged in, but
not especially necessary even!

What do you think?

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We will offer more export options (and in the current release, you can
select transactions and copy/paste them to Pages, Numbers, or any
application that takes tab-delimited text) in future versions. Thanks.

Thanks for that Kevin - i'm not so interested in the transactions
themselves as the bucket amounts so i can take this on the go and i
know how much i can spend on what!

Thomas,

When we release MoneyWell Mobile, it should run on the iPod Touch as
well as the iPhone if you want to have remote access to your current
bucket totals.

NZ must be a bit more backward than the States - the predominant iPod in
use are the Nano and 5.5Video iPods... no worries.

A question related to the export function - is it supposed to export the
bucket levels in the .qif file? Cos 1.3 currently exports bank balances
and transactions, but the bucket levels are exported as empty. If this
worked then i could just pull the information from the .qif file! :)

Thanks :) i'm not trying to pester, just understand! :)

Thomas,

The QIF format doesn't have a spec for putting an amount on
categories. We'll push out a text file with bucket totals at some
point to keep everyone's options open. Thanks for the feedback!
