Everybody,
I think the library sounds great. Let's see if anyone has any
objections to the 19th and if not we can change the date on Monday and
put the location in. We have 9 signed up on meetup right now but I
would expect that we will have more as the date approaches, and when we
firm up a venue. Sometimes people feel uneasy about going to the home
of someone they don't know, and for a kickoff we want as many people as
we can get. Although any place called a tap room seems like a great
meeting place to me (I am of the Franklin political mold), that could
also be off-putting to some. The library (a Franklin invention) is a
great place because it's public and meetings there have to stay open to
the public, which is what we want. I am pretty sure the only people
that would object to the library would be people that don't like books,
and they tend to move to the extremes anyway ;-) .
If you get overwhelmed by any on the technologies used, let me know,
that's what I do. I even worked as a software engineer on the core of
the web server at Netscape. Not much of the technology on the Internet
phases me, the use and abuse of the medium for propaganda among other
things is another story.
Thanks for your efforts.
