Hello,
As a township trustee I have an opportunity to look at various aspects of our gravel road systems in the township. Included in that is the dust control program and other initiatives that could be done to enhance our gravel roads, which are extensive.
My question to the group is; has anyone done any experimentation with using blends of recycled products such as RAP, Crushed concrete, and other materials in various ratios as a virgin road gravel replacement? It appears that RAP percentages greater than 20-25% are not good but am also wondering about the gradation of both the RAP and concrete and in particular if he concrete fines would serve as a binder. I realize this would need to be done in conjunction with a dust control program and would need to be able to be properly regraded.
Any one doing any work with something like this?
