Dear Colleague,
Recall that a while ago we sent you information on a public hearing planned by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria on the Exposure Draft of the National Code of Corporate Governance 2015: Not-for-Profit Sector Code.
Recall that we also sent you an email on the postponement of this event following a court injunction restraining the Council from carrying out the public hearing. We can now confirm that the Court has given FRC leave to hold the public hearing as follows:
Date: July 2nd 2015
Venue: Lagos Airport Hotel
Time: 9am prompt
Note that NNNGO is only mobilizing a sector wide participation at this event, given our understanding of the implications of a code such as this for our sector. We are not in any way part of the planning for this event or committee that developed the code.
For ease of reference and to aid your preparation, a copy of the code can be downloaded at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxB1-bqcIt35R2dvc09QWXZscTQ/view?usp=sharing
All NGOs in Nigeria are encouraged to attend this event in order to share their thoughts, comments and experience on the Not-for-Profit Sector Code. Note that this code will have implications for our work- now is the time to speak up!
For further information, please call FRC directly on 01-7937405 and 01-7918779.
Sincerely,
Nigeria Network of NGOs
