The Bread of Life Development Foundation (BLF) is a non-governmental organisation working in Nigeria’s water and sanitation sector. Founded in 2000, it was registered as an incorporated trustee in 2001. Bread of Life Development Foundation is in Special Consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council since 2012.
 
Over the years, the Bread of Life Development Foundation (BLF) has been involved in activism, advocacy, project management, and conducted consultancy studies in Nigeria’s water and sanitation sector; and has also worked directly with stakeholders in over 15 states in Nigeria.
 
BLF is seeking to employ immediately anInformation and Communications Officer at its Lagos office. Interested candidates meeting the qualifications, experience, and skills outlined below are encouraged to apply for the opening.

Information and Communications Officer, Lagos
Key Responsibilities
  1. Generating and managing digital content for eWASH newsblog www.assemblyonline.info, and other online platforms; as well as marketing the news blog for advertisement placements.
  2. Managing internal/external relations and communications with stakeholder groups.
  3. Implement other duties as directed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. First degree in journalism, mass communication or other related discipline
  2. Good command of English language, good typing skills, excellent writing and reportorial skills, evidenced through past published or unpublished materials.
  3. Ability to gather and edit data in textual, photographic, audio, and video formats.
  4. Good Proficiency in ICT particularly the social media.
  5. Self-motivation and ability to work with little or no supervision.
  6. Prior experience of working in a media firm and knowledge of the issues in the water and sanitation sector in Nigeria is an advantage.
  7. Experience in working with computer software such as Microsoft Office, design packages, and other relevant applications.
  8. Willingness to embark on local or international travels at short notices.
  9. Good speaking communication and marketing skills.
