FROM MD's DESK
Lagos State Government Explains Public-Private Partnership Further
The Lagos State government has never at any time considered the sale or divestment of ANY of LWC water assets. LWC Boss Explains PPP Arrangement

MD Calls for Improvement in Power Supply
In response to the “No Water” complaints by residents of Victoria Island Annex and part of Lekki, the Managing Director of Lagos Water Corporation, has called on Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) to improve power supply to this axis. MD explains that improvement in power supply will lead to increase in water production and distribution to residents of Victoria Island Annex and Lekki respectively; then the issue of “No Water” will be a thing of the past.
LWC to put in place Policy for Separate Water Connection
Lagos Water Corporation is set to put in place a policy for any property demanding for additional water connection; the customer will be required to pay a premium on the added connection. According to the Managing Director, the policy is intended to discourage multiple connections into properties.
COMMERCIAL
Metering
LWC is set to commence metering of properties in Oworoshoki axis of Lagos. The metering exercise is a follow-up to massive mains extension which had earlier been embarked upon in Oworonshoki. With mains connection from Adiyan Water Works to this area, there will be increase in water supply to this part of Lagos metropolis.
Use of Task Force
The AGMs in the Commercial Department of LWC are advocating for the use of task force in disconnecting water from customers who default in the payment of water bills. This, according to the AGMs would ensure prompt payment and ultimately increase revenue for the corporation. The issue is still being considered by management.
DISTRIBUTION
MD Decries Multiple Connections to Single Property
The Managing Director has condemned in strong terms, the idea of having two or more water connections to a single property. Multiple connections imply that the affected property would access more water than necessary, to the detriment of other consumers. This leaves room for unpaid bills and poor recording. As had been stated earlier, a policy would soon be put in place to discourage multiple water connections and water wastage.
Mains Extension: Meiran, Ojokoro
The distribution department has extended its mains extension exercise to Meiran and Ojokoro Axis. This implies increase in Water supply to these areas.
Action of Illegal Water Vendors at Ijora Badia
PRODUCTION
LWC Completes Repairs in Igando Waterworks
Lagos Water Corporation Production Department has completed repair works in Igando Waterworks. Consequently, water production has since resumed at the Waterworks.
LWC GIST
LWC Pensioners Stormed MD's Office
The LWC pensioners stormed the Headquarters of the Corporation on the 19th January, 2015 to show their displeasure towards non-payment of their pension and other benefit. This action necessitated the MD to call for a meeting with the aggrieved pensioners to douse the tension and also promised part-payment.
