NMTF's Urgent Request for SIPASA Special Funding

Hey, Brittney, Christia, Maria and Rainbow

NMTF  is going to organize our biggest annual even next week on Nov.14th:  Technology for Development Pitch Competition. The Pitch Competition encourages current university students from diverse backgrounds to explore the development field through technology. You can find the details in the attachment. 

We have a really awesome panelist this year, so we would love to expand our event to a social network/career activity after the competition. Now, we have $3900 in our account for the competition, so we would like to know whether SIPASA could offer some funding for our special event.

Hi Le,

This certainly sounds like it is going to be a great event! While we wish we could help out, there are several challenges that make it difficult to meet this request. For any funding disbursement, we cannot accept a single email as the request. Rather, for the sake of fairness to other groups and transparency, we have to be responsible about looking over things like your total budget, event budget, line-item costs of the additional networking event, and total deficit (need), etc. Currently, we do not have any of this information from you, and in addition, the date of the event does not give us ample time to make an informed decision and hold a vote.

Therefore, at this time, I'm afraid that it is unlikely that we will be able to provide significant funding assistance. However, if anything changes in discussions amongst the Budget Committee, I will certainly let you know. In the future, please let us know about any anticipated deficits well in advance, and please have your financial statements/budgets available.
