What you missed from the ESC meeting...

Here are the main things we discussed at our meeting on Thursday:

City of Rocks trip will be the weekend of Nov. 5th and 6th.  I'll check in with everyone later in October so we can get a count of who wants to attend, who will drive, and if we are heading out Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Volunteer hours:  Lots of volunteer opportunities are happening over 49er weekend, some of them actually sound fun... So far people have shown interest in supervising the all-you-can-eat contest, s'more making, kite flying, and poker dealing.  If you are interested in volunteering please let me know!

Cans:  Just as a reminder, the ESC does can recycling, you can drop cans off at any time by the 2nd floor back stair well. So collect cans at your house, your office, the gutter, etc and bring them in!  The club keeps the money from the cans.  We also will periodically need volunteers to take the cans to the scrap yard, so let me know if this is something you're willing to do.

Outreach:  People had some great ideas about outreach, from rock boxes to experiments for 5th graders to 12th graders.  More to come on that, if you have any of your own ideas for outreach or interested let me know.
