Using spent beer grains to remove harmful heavy metals from water supplies

This was one of the coolest things I’ve learned recently, related to brewing. This was while attending the NMBG tech symposium at CNM yesterday.

None of us are likely to become members of the American Society of Brewing Chemists, but I learned yesterday that they have an incredible amount of useful resources. While browsing their info, I stumbled across this article as well.
