  • Our December meeting occurred at my house due to a last minute conflict at SF brewing
  • February will be our coffee containing beer competition, which provoked some discussion
    • The beer can be of any style as long as it contains some coffee (no stated quantity)
    • It is possible to add whole coffee beans once fermented, like dry hopping; adding at the whirlpool might also work.
    • You don't want to boil coffee for an hour or add ground coffee due to the mess it might create.
    • You could also add brewed coffee as an extract.


Beers tasted are listed below: commercial beer in italics
  • Corey: Helles (Munich Helles - Lasso Coffee & Lager, Albuquerque), 15th Anniversary IPA (La Cumbre), Medianoche PVW23 (2024 Imperial Stout aged in 23yo Pappy barrels - WeldWerks Brewing)
  • Charles: Russian Imperial Stout (Spencer Brewery), Belgian Pale Ale, Flanders red 2024, Flanders red on tart cherries (2023) 
  • Lorrey: Agave Dubbel (Belgian Dubbel 4 years old)
  • Aaron: Hazelnut Brown Ale (Rogue), Santa’s private reserve stout (Rogue)
  • Ken: IPA 
  • Brandon: Cherry Cyser (cider with honey and tart cherry juice), The Darkest Timeline (Imperial Stout in a bourbon barrel for 8 months, then added cocoa and vanilla at bottling)
  • Michael: Barrel #1 (barleywine), Barrel #3 (double brown), Barley Stout Blend (1/2 barrel 3, remainder is stout)
  • Tom: Maldias - Big Batch 2025 (Foreign Extra Stout, Malpais clone made on new 10 gallon system)
