Hi Garry,

Here is what you should do (assuming you’re an academic user).

In the main window,

File -> Licensing

Click Academic License

Click Apply.

Close the program and rerun.

Let me know if that does not work.

Best,

Woonghee

Hi Woonghee…yes, starting to like Poky, but, I can only use it for 10 minutes.  I think it is a license issue.  I get a pop up window to “read and accept” the license (and I click it), but the Poky window opens and says invalid license on the bottom and dies 10 minutes later.  I don’t see a “license key” in the License folder (there is a file with text about the license).  Any thoughts on what I’m doing incorrectly?

Best,

Garry.

There’s no need to use Sparky any more. POKY has all features from Sparky in far better ways.

Cheers,

Woonghee

Wow, I love Sparky and sorry to hear it is on minimum maintenance mode.  Thank you for a great program.

Looking forward to playing with Poky.

Cheers,

Garry.

Hi Garry,

Say, are you a Sparky expert?

I’ve been developing Sparky (later called NMRFAM-Sparky) longer than a decade after UCSF dropped it.

https://academic.oup.com/bioinformatics/article/31/8/1325/213209

But,  NMRFAM-Sparky is on minimum maintenance mode. I develop POKY a lot more vigorous.

Is it possible to “read” simple 1D spectra in Sparky?

Sparky, no. POKY with simple plugin can visualize 1r file. It is just visualization. https://github.com/pokynmr/POKY/blob/master/User_Modules/plot_1r_script.py

Best,

Woonghee

Ahhh, never thought of trying that.  Looks like it worked.  Now to see if I can convert my Bruker files into Sparky readable files.

Say, are you a Sparky expert?  Is it possible to “read” simple 1D spectra in Sparky?

Alas, thank you for the help.

Garry.

Check twice before you click! This email originated from outside PNNL.

Dear Garry,

You should use Poky on recent Mac OSs. There’s a button in the main window.

You can download from

Woonghee

Dear Sparky,

Hi….had to upgrade my Mac laptop to Catalina and having issues running various old programs.  Sparky works, but, I can’t use easybruker2ucsf now.  Is there a fix available for this yet?  Thanks.

Best,

Garry.
