issues opening projects

Hello,

I always saved projects during backbone assignment peak picking and never had an issue re-loading them until now. When I went to open sparky the icon just kept jumping but it would not open the program. I saw in a discussion on the user group to try and download the newest version, so I did that (i have a MacOS Catalina version 10.15.7). Now it opens, but I cannot open any of my previous projects. I get a message "Couldn't read save file ... stop project load?"

I can individually open save files of the individual spectra but not the project with them all and all the peaks labeled. 

I saw an earlier thread (https://groups.google.com/g/nmr-sparky/c/QNGQJ4Qa_0o) of a similar issue and they went and gave disk permission to sparky. I gave disk permission to sparky, X11 (which i also re-downloaded), python launcher, terminal, and launchd_startx, but I still am getting the same error message when I try to open projects. 

Do you have any suggestions as to how I can overcome this issue?

Have you moved files around? I would suggest opening your project file and see the save file paths are correct in there.
