(Raised Voice & fees increased) Story Behind Increase of College Audit fees by 3 times

In year 2016-17, when I was Chairman of PD Committee of EIRC of ICAI, after 45 minutes of discussion, they said that College audit fees will not be increased & CAs should do it as social responsibility. 

This discussion was about to end. 

Then, I stated asking & arguing, 

What is your salary? How much you earn/ day? If CA should do it as social responsibility, why should you also not forgo half of you salary on same ground? 

Do you know that it takes at least 5 days to complete a small college audit with 2 audit assistants. How much CA should earn /day? ...........

These arguments of mine were then supported by my other regional council colleagues. At last, it was decided that a recommendation will be sent to increase college audit fees by Rs 10000+ only from Rs 3000+ only. However, since Government approval may take one or two years of time. After approval, College Audit fees was ultimately increased to Rs 10,000+ only.
