Subject: Renewal of entries for samples stored in deep freezer -80 degree C, Lab 602
Dear All,
This is to inform you that we are cleaning the Sanyo deep freeze -80°C on 27/08/2014. You are requested to make fresh entries in new log book with the required details and also check the status of your samples in the freezer. As per the new Guidelines framed by the Microorganism Utilization and Storage Monitoring Committee, it is mandatory to fill the proper label with complete information on the containers. This will not only keep your samples safe , but also ensure its availability for future use.
We seek following information on the label as applicable to your samples.
Sr. No: As entered in the Log book
Name of the sample: ______________
Nature: Microbial/Biological/Chemical
Source: Culture bank/ Animal/Herbal/Kits/Biochemical
Glycerol stock: Yes/No
Microbe: Pathogenic/Nonpathogenic

There are many unattended animal organ samples which are not labelled and stored properly. In case there is no claim from the faculty/Ph.D. Research scholars/ students/Lab staff, we will discard them. PhD Guides are requested to inform their students to take care of animal samples if stored any. This is for your immediate action.
Regards,
Dr. Maushmi S.Kumar
