SVKM’s MPSTME and VJTI, Mumbai join hands
Mumbai, October 25, 2013: SVKM’S Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai for mutual cooperation and support by faculty & students for optimizing resources and enhanced learning in the field of Project Management.
Project Management is an emerging field of discipline in India due to the widely felt need for mega projects to be managed professionally so that they can meet their scope, cost & schedule targets to address the urgent need to utilize the expertise and infrastructure at both universities.
This MoU will enable MPSTME & VJTI Institute to share knowledge, expertise, student and even faculty exchange.
“The MOU is a major milestone of cooperation between MPSTME & VJTI. It will pave the way for networking of students & faculty of both institutions in the important area of Project Management. I am sure it will benefit both the institutions as well as the project management profession at large”, said Prof.Sharad Mhaiskar, Dean – MPSTME.
"I am happy that VJTI and NMIMS have entered into an MOU for mutual cooperation in the project management area. I think the students and faculty will surely benefit and it will do good to both institutions.” said Dr. O. G. Kakde, Director – VJTI .
NMIMS is in the forefront of this movement and a centre for excellence in Project Management is emerging at MPSTME under the leadership of Prof. V.Seshadri and the first batch of Project Management specialization has commenced from this year in the MBA(Tech) program. VJTI has also been active in this area and the first M.Tech batch of Project Management has commenced from this year in the Production Engineering department of VJTI.
