Dear users,
I am trying to install nmag-0.2.1 on Mac OS X Mavericks, but I get the following error when I run “make”:

gcc -DCAML_NAME_SPACE -O -fno-defer-pop -no-cpp-precomp -Wall -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_REENTRANT -c -o interp.o interp.c
clang: error: unknown argument: '-fno-defer-pop'
make[3]: *** [interp.o] Error 1
make[2]: *** [coldstart] Error 2
make[1]: *** [world.opt] Error 2
make: *** [.deps_ocaml_build] Error 2

I attach a file with the complete output.
I searched through the archives but I found no mention to the same problem (and/or solution). Any help in possible fixing will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Alessio,

support for compilation on Mac OS X has been discontinued for Nmag, unfortunately. Your best bet would be to run Linux inside a virtual machine (for example the free virtualbox) on your Mac.

We are in the process of making a new virtual machine with Nmag preinstalled available - if you are interested, get in touch off list, and you could be a beta tester for this.

Thanks,

Hans
