Hello,

I have made some revisions to the NMAG codebase that allows it to be easily compiled on modern GNU/Linux distrobutions. You can find my public repository here:

https://github.com/mhanberry1/nmagMods

I have written instructions on how to modify the default nmag-0.2.1 code in the "Install.txt" file. The entire process (including compilation) should take no more than 10 minutes. I have tested the revisions on Ubuntu 17.10 without any issues.

With the developers' permission, I would like to see my modified code available on the main download page. After all, compiling NMAG has been a pain-point for many. I am also developing a front-end that will allow for easy script generation for simulations. I will provide updates as this progresses.

Thanks,
Madison Hanberry

Hi Madison,

That’s very exciting. Let us look into this and get back to you. (We have no resources for Nmag at the moment, so this may take some time.)

Best wishes,

Hans

Hello All,

I've created a video that shows how to compile NMAG on modern Ubuntu releases.
I hope it helps, and any feedback is welcome!
