Dear all,

I have a problem with the HLib and Nmag.
I tried to install nmag-0.2.0 and nmag-0.2.1 with HLib and during the installation i didn't see any error. But, after the installation I ran the
"make checkhlib"

and I got an Error, see below.

make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/moty/nmag-0.2.1/nsim/tests/regression/nmag/bugs/twohmx'

Dear Moty,

I dont have answer to your question but i want to use this oppertunity to post my question which is related to HLib installation. Massage is below, I would appreciate any help

Dear all,

I am a new user of NMAG and beginner to simulations thats why started using VMware based Nmag coz its easy. I liked it but i am facing problem with memory so I decided to start using Hlib Library to simulate large objects. I read the manual especially this part discussing about Hlib http://nmag.soton.ac.uk/nmag/current/manual/html/example_phi_BEM_hlib/doc.html

I got the license to use hlib. I received files named "H2Lib-master" and "HLib-1.3p20.tar" and now question is how to implement it with VMware environment? Is it possible to do that? anybody help me stepwise how to do it? i didnt find information in manual regarding this but maybe i missed it.

Thanks alot

With Kind Regards

There are two parts of the answer to this:

(i) The Nmag code is compatible with version 1.3p19 as distributed in the HLib-1.3p19.tar.gz . It may work with later versions, but I wouldn’t want to rely on it. (We have no resources to update the code for later versions.) So I recommend that you request the older version HLib-1.3p19.tar.gz from the HLib team and use this.

(ii) The installation within the virtual machine is the same as would be on a ‘real’ computer. The operating system and Nmag inside the virtual machine doesn’t know that this is a virtual machine and everything appears to be like a  proper computer. So you can just follow the instructions at http://nmag.soton.ac.uk/nmag/0.2/manual/html/example_phi_BEM_hlib/doc.html#installation-of-hlib

Regards,

Hans
