The Institute for Addiction and Criminal Justice Studies (approved nmcbbhp Provider #1003,  NAADAC Provider #619 and NBCC Provider #6310) and the Connecticut Certification Board are pleased to present The Science 2 Service (S2S) Learning Series ©.  This is a unique presentation of cutting edge material that is largely within the public domain that has been coupled with the opportunity to earn education hours.  This innovative learning program will allow participants to study science, research, and evidence-based material at their own pace and receive education hours in the process.

Pre and Post test questions have been developed as the key component of the S2S Learning Series that will allow participants to receive hours of education and a Certificate of Completion upon their successful conclusion.   The questions are multiple choice, true and false, and meet our existing standards to ensure a thorough understanding of the material.  Links are also provided on our website to encourage participants to access SAMHSA for free downloads of the material – however, they will not be able to earn education hours without purchasing our exams and course evaluation.

The following are names and descriptions of the first six of the new Science 2 Service offerings that will be included on our website.   The courses are included in the Annual Membership that we are offering:  the $100 fee for the Annual Membership includes up to 20 hours of coursework at no additional charge.

This program will introduce participants to science and evidence-based public domain materials such as research reports, consensus documents, TIPs – Treatment Improvement Protocols, TAPs – Technical Assistance Publications, and other materials based upon scientific research and emerging trends within the field of behavioral healthcare.   The program is divided into several sections, each with a series of modules that can typically be completed within 1 to 2 hours. Once the participant successfully completes all of the modules for a course, s/he will receive a certificate for continuing education hours. The program is self-paced, so s/he is not required to complete the material on any schedule & there are no deadlines or due dates.  S2S courses typically feature one or more public domain documents on a current topic within behavioral health (e.g., medication assisted treatment, co-occurring disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, etc.), pre and post test exams, and a course evaluation.

Please let me know if you’d like additional information, or if I can answer any questions.  Thank you!
