Governor Richardson Applauds New Mexico Productions Nominated for Golden Globe Awards

3 New Mexico Productions Net 7 Golden Globe Nominations for 2010

 

SANTA FE - Governor Bill Richardson today announced that three New Mexico-based productions netted a total of seven nominations for the 2010 Golden Globe awards.  The New Mexico nominees are:

 

BEST ACTOR, FEATURE, DRAMA
Jeff Bridges - "Crazy Heart"
Tobey Maguire - "Brothers"

 

BEST MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
"George O'Keeffe"

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
Joan Allen - "Georgia O'Keeffe"

 

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
Jeremy Irons - "Georgia O'Keeffe"

 

BEST ORIGINAL SONG
"The Weary Kind" from "Crazy Heart" - Music & Lyrics by: Ryan Bingham, T Bone Burnett

"Winter" from "Brothers" - Music by: U2; Lyrics by: Bono

 

“These nominations continue to validate New Mexico as a world-class production center,” said Governor Richardson.  “They are a testimony to the professionalism of our crews, our talent, and our efforts to build a globally recognized industry and to diversify our economic base.  I congratulate all the nominees and wish them the best.”

The Golden Globes will be broadcast live January 17, 2010 on NBC.  The telecast is one of the industry’s most widely watched, airing in over 150 countries worldwide.
