Opportunities for Filmmakers (& other Entrepreneurs) this Week w/ Tech Fiesta

Most filmmakers are entrepreneurs. And our wealth of creative media talent will be essential to growing a healthier ecosystem. I hope you'll join the wider tech and startup communities in the bunch of events we have going on this week (many of them free). I share many of them below, but I'll call out a special few:

First off, Monday has two great workshops, one with Tammy Decker, to help entrepreneurs and their companies find their brand and put the pieces in place to do social media in a manageable way that gets results. Join them at Convivium Coworking (info below). Also Monday, we hear from three key leaders who've helped shape Austin into a capital for creative media work. including SXSW Interactive founder and director, Hugh Forrest. As we continue to work at growing our New Mexico cities, learning from places like Austin (and learning how to make the most of our time in Austin) just makes sense.

What goes into co-writing a book series that's later picked up for a series on SyFy? Or adapting George RR Martin's work as a graphic novel? Daniel Abraham may have the answers to those and more as he talks about his Expanse series (co-written w/ Ty Franck as James SA Corey) that's going into production, writing part of the Star Wars saga and others.
