Greetings from the Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS), National Law University, Jodhpur.

We are pleased to invite you to the National Virtual Workshop on Intellectual Property and Sports, being organised on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day on 26th April, 2026.

The workshop will examine the evolving interface between intellectual property law and the sports industry, with discussions on sports broadcasting rights, trademark protection, ambush marketing, athlete branding, and innovation in sports technology.

We are also delighted to share that Dr. B. P. Singh, Former Controller of Patent and Designs, has kindly consented to join us as the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony, whose address will set the tone for the workshop.

The technical sessions will be conducted by distinguished speakers, including Ms. Aprajita Nigam (Managing Associate at Anand & Anand);  Dr. Ankit Singh (DPIIT IPR Chair Professor at HNLU, Raipur); and Mr. Pranit Biswas (Managing Associate at S.S. Rana & Co.), who will bring both academic and practical perspectives to the discussions.

Please note that the workshop is compulsory for all Semester VIII students (IPR Hons.) and LL.M. (IPR) students. The students would be given attendance for the same and shall also recieve participation e-certificate on attending all sessions.

For all other students, participation is voluntary; however, no attendance will be granted.
