Call for Participation: Indian Classical Music Event by Saarang

Dear Students,
Saarang, the Music Society of NLU Jodhpur, is pleased to announce that it is planning to organise a special event celebrating the richness and diversity of Indian Classical Music. The event aims to showcase performances across both major traditions - Carnatic and Hindustani - encompassing vocal as well as instrumental forms.
In this regard, we invite students who have received training in Indian classical music (in either or both traditions, and in vocal or instrumental forms) to share their details with us. This will help us curate performances and take the event forward in an organised manner.
Interested students are requested to fill out the following Google Form by 11:59 Hrs, on 25 April 2026.

Dear All,
It has come to our notice that there may be some confusion regarding the aforesaid Indian Classical Music event.
We would like to clarify that the event is not limited to only core raga-based or strictly traditional classical performances. While such performances are most welcome, the event is intended to celebrate the wider spectrum of Indian classical traditions.
Accordingly, students trained in or interested in presenting forms such as ghazals, thumri, dadra, bhajans, keerthanas, kritis, varnams, khayal, dhrupad, tarana, etc, as well as other classical style - both vocal and instrumental - are warmly encouraged to fill the form.
We hope this clarifies the scope and nature of the event, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
