Greetings!
The Centre for Gender Studies ("The Centre") is pleased to invite applications from all batches for the academic year 2026–27.
About the Centre
The Centre functions as a space for critical engagement with issues of gender, identity, and social justice. It aims to foster meaningful conversations around gender in its diverse forms and intersections, both within and beyond the university. Through academic initiatives such as conferences, panel discussions, and publications, along with community-oriented engagement, the Centre works towards building awareness, encouraging dialogue, and contributing to policy discourse on gender-related concerns. The Centre is committed to creating an inclusive and reflective campus environment by challenging stereotypes, addressing inequalities, and promoting informed perspectives on gender.
In the previous years, the Centre has taken up several initiatives such as the 1st Online Certificate Course on Gender and Law, the 1st NLUJ - MAP Essay Writing Competition on Gender and Law, Sensitization sessions for school children, Workshop on Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice, Workshop for Women Entrepreneurs in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, POSH sessions, panel discussions, theatrical plays, amongst others. For the upcoming semester, the Centre plans to take up a research project, conduct capacity building and training sessions, workshops and sensitization sessions, and launch a blog page.
