Hello Nashville Linux User's Group,

Tomorrow on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at 6:00pm, we do not have a formal presenter for this month. We will meet at our meeting space and let you decide on what you want to discuss. If you want to present on something, bring it along and step up to the podium. :) This is going to be a free form meeting. A Recruiter from Robert Half Technology may be on site tomorrow night, but I will confirm this with her in the morning. Would not hurt to bring your resume with you if you are currently seeking employment in the technology field.

Please do not forget about the InstallFest next weekend, Saturday, March 20th, from 10am to 5pm. We will send out another meeting reminder next week as well regarding this. We will try to get the posters up soon on nlug.org.

Our monthly meeting has changed locations and we are now back in Medical Research Building III (MRB-III). Please review the campus map located on the Vanderbilt website. Please follow the directions listed on the web site at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/ResEd/MRB3/filelist.html. While I hate to have everyone printing these pictures, it is the easiest way to find the building and the meeting space. The footbridge crosses 21st Ave from Edgehill. The information on http://nlug.wikispot.org/Directions is currently incorrect. Please do not follow that as it will lead you to our old meeting space.

After the meeting (8:00 appr.) almost everyone goes to Pizza Perfect (Short walk away down 21st Ave S), to have a pizza, salad, beer, or whatever else you want. Instructions on how to get to the meeting are posted on our web site listed in the signature. If you unfamiliar with the campus, I recommend arriving about 30 minutes early so you can familiarize yourself with the area or ask on the list for more information.

Kevin,

Allow me to drag stuff in for this evening and run an ad hoc discussion.
I have two topics to present both involving installations that don't
play nice. One I have the answer to and the other I'd like some help with.

Sounds good to me. I am leaving work today at 4pm. So, I will try to go around and post signs for the meeting. See you there.

If all goes well I should be moved into town between April 1st-15th. I
enjoyed the one meeting I went to quite a while back.

It sure would be nice if things like your presentation/discussion could be saved for posterity and those Nashville expatriates unable to attend meetings until the statute of limitations runs out.

Bill,

We had a great turn out last night. Many thanks to all who endured my
eleventh hour preparation and presentation. I had fun putting this
together and presenting. I posted my .odp on the NLUG wiki for posterity.

May I offer encouragement to all members to put together simple topics
for presentation. PLEASE do not feel threatened to bring to the group
an issue with which you are having difficulty and would like the group
to help you with. I've made several presentations to the group over the
years on topics I've had minimal understanding of but then I have so
little pride and so much ham that it doesn't bother me. DON'T BE BASHFUL!!!
