Has anyone checked out Omarchy? I never thought I would have anything positive to say about arch, but it is legitimately an amazing desktop distro/theme. It is basically an opinionated build of hyprland (tiling window manager). It is very well done.

Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for what's new(ish) in Linux. It will run on basically anything. I have it running on a small NUC knockoff like computer.

Btw, is NLUG still doing install fests?

I'm up for an install fest; it was discussed and mentioned last couple of meetups.

A couple years ago I was part of the video crew for MNPS Graduation at Municipal auditorium and tried to introduce everyone to Linux via my hobby website HelpWithIT.info .

On that note I'm up for suggestions and constructive criticism on how to improve the site (I need to replace Ubuntu 22 with 24 and also Linux Mint Debian edition has served very well for our computer hater the last two months.

I'm up for test Omarchy.

I watched a DHH video about Omarchy on youtube and it seems really cool but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. One issue is it uses hyperlnd for its compositor and I can't get a good feel for whether I can run it in a VM without GPU acceleration.

Anything that has a primary installation method of 'curl URL | bash' as root .... just no. Just walk away.
