Dear Participants,

I am a retired judge with a strong interest in ML applied to law.

I am exploring the possibility to train a machine to render judgements, like in a Court of law.

Law is essentially a vocabulary. Therefore, NLP naturally comes across as an appropriate tool to train machines to make a determination when faced with a set of facts, once reduced in writing.

The initial step of the process consists in identifying good/bad and just/unjust behaviours or decisions. I have put together a labelling method in that regard.

More complex situations may be explored at a later stage, even though I anticipate that the current labelling method will still be valid to address sophisticated matters.

Would anyone be interested in assisting with the coding of this project, using NLTK?

Looking forward to hearing from you: mar...@bauwens.com
