Dear All,
Please find attached the Rules for Room Allotment, 2015-16 for the Women's Halls of Residence. List of Rooms can be viewed here.
We urge you to go through the rules carefully to note the changes in the allotment procedure this year. Briefly put,
- Order of Priority - Those retaining current room as per Rule 2 > Batch Seniority.
- Draw of Lots - for resolving ties within a batch.
- Batch - Batch in which an applicant was originally admitted to NLS and not her present batch.
- Applications will be called and allotments shall be made in five stages:
Stage 1: To those who wish to retain their current room as per Rule 2.
Stage 2: Senior-most batches (UG2011, UG2010 and above).
Stage 3: UG-2012 batch.
Stage 4: UG-2013 batch.
Stage 5: UG-2014 batch.
- At the end of the allotment at each stage, a list of vacant rooms available for allotment in the next stage will be notified.
Stage 1 : Call for Applications for Retaining Current Room
· Who must apply?
- Those who wish to retain their current single room or room with all roommates in accordance with Rule 2.
- First years cannot apply.
- How to apply?
- Login to your NLS email account to access the online application form: http://goo.gl/forms/hXrDYDyk94.
- Joint application must be made by those applying as roommates for a particular room.
- Responses submitted can be viewed at this link.
- Apply by?
- 11:59 PM on May 22, 2015. The deadline will be strictly enforced.
- What if you fail to apply before the deadline?
- Your room will be considered vacant and part of the common pool of rooms available for allotment to others residents.
Outcomes of Stage 1 and details of Stage 2 of the allotment process will be notified on this thread in due course.
