Hi

So far, the workshops have been a great success. However, attendance problems are catching up with us. We're firstly going a little too slow on this, as we need more workshops confirmed soon. However, as it's turning out, most volunteers are facing attendance issues already. This is turning out to be a massive fix.

Firstly, there's no way any school workshops will happen outside class hours since schools shut at 3pm everyday. The schools closer by might allow some of us to cut only two hours in the morning and come back for the second two hours. That also however is dependent on morning classes attendance being adequate, which quite obviously isn't the case.

Secondly, asking the VC would mean asking too many favours, something we might need later on for other reasons. Deemed attendance, even if granted, would mean reducing the number of classes out of which our shortage is calculated, which is inconvenient.

Thirdly, this project has taken off really well. It'll be a shame if we can't take this forward after having come this far, so leaving the workshops undone would be a great harm to this project, as well as sponsorship.

I really need suggestions on what can be done. For now, i'm thinking of informally meeting teachers for informal granting of attendance. However, this is a long shot, and would most likely be refused by most teachers, as they'll be scared of people scamming it.

Anything really. We really need to see this project reach completion! Do pitch in your thoughts.

We'll get documentary evidence, talk to them about the scope of the project and hope for the best, failing which we'll approach the VC.
