Hi,
Just a reminder, we will not be holding a reading group meeting this week. Everyone is encouraged to join the Seligman lab meeting from 3-4:30, see description below.
We'll resume the regular reading group schedule starting next week.

Hey everyone,
I want to remind you that we will be meeting this Thursday, 10/22, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the PPC's non-windowed conference room. Dr. Stephanie O'Keeffe, Ireland's National Director of Health and Wellbeing, will be leading this week's lab meeting.
Below, find a brief description from Stephanie of what the Irish government has been designing and implementing at the national policy level.
The Irish government is leading a ‘whole-of-government’, ‘whole-of-society’ framework to improve population health and wellbeing among people living in Ireland and I’d like to talk to you about it. It’s called healthy Ireland
http://health.gov.ie/healthy-ireland/ I worked in our Department of Health for a year writing it and establishing a new health and wellbeing unit and governance structures to roll it out.
We’ve got good cross-sectoral traction. A concern right now is ensuring the Healthy Ireland agenda remains a priority for the next government, so we have time and space over the next 4 years to further embed this new approach and make it sustainable. We have elections next March and political leadership on this issue is a critical success factor.
In my current role as director of health and wellbeing services in Ireland’s national health services (health services executive) I’m leading the health sector element and trying to re-orientate our health reforms goals and services, payment models etc. toward prevention, health and wellness. This is our 3 year plan

I look forward to seeing many of you there! Linda will be very kind, as always, and organize light refreshments for us.
Warmly, Alejandro
