Introducing a new hybrid system for extracting complex relations from natural language text

Hi there all!

I'd like to introduce you to a new NLP engine we've developed at
Digital Trowel Inc - CARE (CRF Assisted Relations Extraction).

CARE is a new hybrid Machine Learning/Knowledge Engineering-based
system for extracting complex relations from free natural language
text. The system is based on weighted discriminative context free
grammars, interpretable and trainable as CRFs, and features a flexible
interface between the parsing component and the token classification
components such as part-of-speech tagger and named entity recognizer.

CARE was developed by Digital Trowel Inc. because of our scientists'
conviction that hybrid approaches will ultimately have the upper hand
over any puristic approach.
