The Machine Reading group (http://mr.cs.ucl.ac.uk) at the Computer Science department of UCL is seeking to employ a postdoctoral research associate in the EPSRC project DILiGENt, in collaboration with members of the Interaction Lab at Heriot-Watt (https://sites.google.com/site/hwinteractionlab/) and the BBC Research & Development team.
The goal of the project is to develop domain-independent natural language generation systems. The plan is to focus on developing imitation learning-based algorithms for this purpose that would be able to learn from crowd-sourced data.
This post is funded for 24 months in the first instance.
Applicants should have completed their PhD (or be close to completion) in natural language processing and machine learning with a strong publication record. Good programming skills and ability to work well within a team are essential. Experience in using machine learning methods for natural language generation is desirable.
If you have any queries regarding the vacancy or the application process, please contact Andreas Vlachos ( a.vl...@cs.ucl.ac.uk ) or Sebastian Riedel ( sebastia...@ucl.ac.uk ).
