Why does xchat take so long to list channels and is there any way to make it
faster? I'm aware that there are a ton of channels but mIRC lists channels
much faster than xchat does given the same parameters.

Thank you!

About the channels window, Is it possible to add a button "Cancel" to kill
the research ? Because if the list is very long, it's very boring to wait
it the result.

Thanks

How would you tell the ircd to stop the listing?
Use patterns to shorten the search time.

You mean saying to the irc server to stop sending the list of all channels to
you or just ignore what is comming from the socket with a given numerical
untill it's over?

The first could be acheived by a reconnect or the ircd developers - it seems
to me as not xchat related.
The second alternative could be implemented, I suppose. However it is not
clear for me if this is the right way to do it.
