Compassionate use for SSI/SSA

Dear Fellow LMS'ers!

LeioMyoSarcoma is now on the official compassionate allowance list for conditions that receive the expedited process for disability benefits. LMS was added to the list that now has reached 200 medical conditions - see #21.

Being a recognized illness by the government is a HUGE step and should give LMS patients a little relief without being buried in paperwork.

Wow Joni!!!

This is such great news!!  My husband Russ (36) was diagnosed with LMS 2.5 years ago and was recently given a diagnosis of 6-9 months. He's tried 5 different chemos and 6 weeks of intense radiation as well as surgery and nothing has worked. He's still working full time from home but his pain grows worse daily and I was about to hurdle the social security fence as he will not be able to work soon. Thank you again and hope all remains well for you.
