Dear Sir/Madam,

Sub: Engineers Day - 2016 Awards.

On the occasion of 49^th Engineers’ Day on 15^th September 2016, this is the 156^th Birth Anniversary of Eminent Engineer Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The Institution of Engineers (India), Nashik Local Centre invites nominations for“Engineers Day – 2016 Awards” in the following five categories.

You are requested to nominate/ recommend names of the engineers working in your organization/ working under you for the above specific awards in the prescribed format in triplicate showing extra ordinary work in engineering field done by them. The filled in nominations complete in all respect should reach the Institution’s office on or before 26^th August 2016. The selection committee appointed for this purpose will give their recommendations for the awards which will be firm & final.

 

GUIDELINES FOR ENGINEERS’ DAY 2016 AWARDS

 

Awards are given to Engineers in five categories viz. Outstanding Engineer Award, Engineering Achievement Awards, Lady Engineer Achievement Award, Promising Engineer Awards and Lady Engineer Awards. The guidelines for these awards are given below:

 

1. Outstanding Engineer Award: This award is given to a selected engineer for his outstanding performance worth praise by the entire Engineering community. (Age 40 years and above completed as on 15^th September 2016)

 

2. Engineering Achievement Awards: These awards are given for excellent work done in the Engineering field. (Min. age 35 years as on 15^th September 2016)

 

3.  Lady Engineer Achievement Award: These awards are given for excellent work done in the Engineering field. (Min. age 35 years as on 15^th September 2016)

 

4. Promising Engineer Awards: These awards are given to young engineers showing excellence in their career. (Age less than 35 years as on 15^thSeptember 2016)

 

5. Lady Engineer Awards: These awards are given to Lady Engineers having suitable qualification and engineering performance, so as to encourage them to take up challenging engineering career. There is no age group for this award.

NOTES.

1.    The awards and prizes will be given away during the Engineers’ Day celebrations function on or after 15^th Sept. 2016.

2.    The date to receive nominations for awards is 26^th August 2016. 

3.    The Nashik Local Centre awards are restricted to engineers working in Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon districts.

4.    The head of the organization should preferably recommend nominations, since it will add to authenticity and reliability of information. Application of self-employed engineers should be supported by two reputed engineers.

5.    The Application format along with a passport size photograph should be as per appended format.

6.   Achievements given in the resume should be necessarily outstanding contributions in the field of engineering and technology e.g. research, design, quality control, economy in execution or maintenance, saving of foreign exchange, construction management etc. Please note that achievements in other fields such as sports, social services, and dramatics etc. will not be considered.  Also, routine work will not be given any considerations.

7.    The selection committee shall scrutinize the nominations received and recommend to the core committee. The decision of the core committee shall be final and no queries in this regard will be entertained.

8.    The candidate, if called for a personal discussion /interview, should make himself /herself available on a mutually convenient day and time
