Role: SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Houston, TX (Need Local with DL)

Interview: Onsite

Visa: USC/GC

Rate: $45/hr on C2C

SQL Server DBA (2016–2022), HA/DR (Always On, clustering), PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Azure & AWS, VMware, T-SQL & PowerShell scripting, performance tuning, backup/recovery, automation (Python/Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, QA, and production environments
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server instances
• Support and administer PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases in production
• Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning/testing
• Implement and support high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and failover clustering
• Troubleshoot database performance, blocking, and connectivity issues
• Develop automation scripts using T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
• Manage database environments across Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Work closely with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams for deployments and optimization
• Support incident management and production issues in real-time
• Ensure database security, integrity, and performance tuning

Required

• 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (SQL Server 2016–2022)
• Strong experience with high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Experience working with Azure and AWS cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of VMware or virtualized environments
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization

Preferred

• Exposure to SQL Server 2025
• Experience with Zerto for disaster recovery
• Familiarity with Python or Ansible for automation
• Experience working in DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
