Hi All,

The 4 of us, my wife and two young daughters, 8 and 12, have just arrived
from Australia to spend a couple of years in this great city of Eindhoven.

Does anybody know of any clothes optional or naturalist venus in and around
Eindhoven? Does anybody know if the Active Club sauna and swimming pool at
the Dorint Hotel in the middle of Eindhoven is clothes optional? We spent
the early afternoon there earlier this week and we were the only ones there
so we let the children swim and play there without costumes and the staff
there didn't seem to be too concerned but we were afraid to ask for
ourselves.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated for the area of
Eindhoven.

best wishes,

The Kerr Family

I don't know anything about sauna's, but there is a naturist "beach"
called the "E3 strand", about 10 kilometers from Eindhoven.

Hotel clubs/sauna's usually are very much focussed on their
American guests. Meaning: clothes demanded!

Young children in the Netherlands can swim naked anywhere, but I
think 8 and 12 is considered a little too old to fall under
'young' in this meaning.

You better look around for a normal sauna, maybe with a
swimmingpool. Normally speaking Dutch sauna's are mixed (but for
certain 'women-only' days). In the rest area sometimes you are
asked to wear a teddycloth, but given the average Dutch
temperature, that is not a big problem.

I think Son is pretty close to Eindhoven (topografical I'm very
blonde), so you could check:

Thermae Son
Planetenlaan 2b
5691 PM Son
Tel: 0499-476383
Open: dayly 10am-12pm
Tuesdays sometimes 'women only' and in weekends and vacations
'family days'.

A good website to check is: http://home.wxs.nl/~nasa/
(naturism and sauna)

Oh and... welcome to the Netherlands and welcome to nl.naturisme
;)

How about Thermen Kastelenplein?
Kastelenplein 73
Eindhoven.

THE BEST in that area.

Hi All,

Thanks people for the fast replies so far and the welcomes. We really love
it here so far in Eindhoven and I know that we are going to be happy here.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check out both places before taking my
wife and girls and the E3 place sounds interesting. I didn't expect
something in the open only 10 Kms from Eindhoven as I thought that it was
completely inland. Is it a river front?

I can't comment yet on 8 and/or 12 being to old to be able to get away with
being kids but as long as both girls are happy and comfortable with
themselves I will encourage them, with guidance, to do their own thing. I do
fear though that the time is approaching when my eldest will reach the
awkward teenage years when she will become more self-consious. She won't be
my little baby anymore.... that I will miss.

Talk about cold here people :) But it is still great after coming from a
very hot summer in Sydney. Central heating in the apartment helps
considerably :) We go from one extreme to the other.... light clothes on in
the apartment then layers and layers of clothes when outside. But beats
being overheated in the humidity in Sydney.

Might see some of you around....

Hi Clifford and family,

Welcom to Holland, I hope you will have an pleasend stay in our country.

You ask for possibilitys near Eindhoven. You have been told about the E3
beach, wich is a very nice accomodation for familys. As they have dig out
the sand to build roads, there is a huge lake. They have a nice naturist
part and a textil part.
During the winter I can recommand the swimmingpool Picamare in Gennep. This
is a village about 50 km. from Eindhoven. Every saturday from 17.00 untill
21.00 they have naturist-swim. Aspecialy for the kids this is a nice pool
and also the have several sauna's and it don't cost a fortune, as the other
sauna's cost when you have to go with 4 people. If you like to have more
information about this pool, you can mail snz.g...@euronet.nl

Hope you will find a nice place to be.

If you like short holidays, and if you like eating mussels, and
if you want to meet a small group of nl.naturists, let me invite
you to our next RL meeting.

Saturday April 3

This is the Saturday before Easter. Easterweekend is a long
weekend in the Netherlands, so we'll all be off Sat/Sun and
Monday.

We are gathering in Zeeland (west from Eindhoven).
Karina and Willem are our hosts. They have a small camping
(naturistic) and they made us a very fine itinerary:

(anybody who likes to see the schedule in Dutch, go back to the
posting "mossel-meeting" (Message-ID: <36E7C045...@wxs.nl>)

11.00 am coffee

11.30 am expedition along the beach in search for periwinkles and
oysters (probably part of our meal). If you want to be in on this
one, be on time because of the tides.

1.00 pm more coffee (you'll find us drinking it at any occasion)
and a presentation of diving school "Aquafun".
http://people.A2000.nl/mham/naturisme/Aqua.htm

2.00 pm we will climb the 'plompe-toren' (a tower, not too high)
http://www.zeelandnet.nl/vvv/nieuwinzld/plompe.htm

3.00 pm everybody will have to be there because that is when the
musselmeal will start.
Since not everybody likes seafood, we will have some alternatives
too. Probably a barbecue or salads or something like that
(suggestions are still welcome, as well as help).

The evening, starting around 6.00 pm still has a lot of open
endings.
-We can hang around and enjoy the scenery
-When the weather isn't too good we can go to a nearby sauna (de
Parel in Domburg)
-The diving school 'Aquafun' is willing to give us a fair price
for a test dive (in a pool). This is great fun for kids of
course. There's also the possibility to get a 'first
certificate', which includes theory and some practice.

Enroll through e-mail, preferably with:
-the number of people that will eat mussels
-the number of people that prefer something else
-the number of people that will spend the night (or more nights)
and whether they have their own camping equipment or not.
-and LAST BUT NOT LEAST: the number of people that will come
along for the swim/dive (because the pool MUST be rented in
advance)

I took the liberty to translate, but like to give the honor of
the organisation to:

willem&karina

Unfortunately I have no clue on where they live, but for the
province of Zeeland. If you look at the map, you'll find a
number of islands and I must admit (told you before about my lack
of topography) I don't even know which island they're on <grin>

No doubt someone will jump in on this one!

The homepage for the musselmeeting isn't publicised here in the
newsgroup, but send anyone of us a mail and we'll send you the
address
(willem&karina: smal...@wxs.nl or chr...@newsguy.com)

Hopefully till next month!
