Gentlemen,

We have been told several times that the school is in terrible shape. To the extent that yesterday when I was there, one of the donors from outside the country wondered what the  alumni are doing.

No chairs and tables in the dining hall, you can't believe human beings sleep in  those rooms which are supposed to be hostels. Not to talk of toilets and bathrooms.

I have personally sponsored an inter hostels cleanliness and excellence competition and the prize money is MK100,000 every term beginning next term

This is very encouragement. Hope we can all emulate your good gesture towards the school. I believe we really need to sit down, as a grouping, and strategize on how we can efficiently channel our help to our old school.

Nkhaboss Gentlemen. Thankyou good people for the good work you are putting into Nkhaboss. Viwongo kwa Chiuta. It will take a selfless united team of serious Malawians , who are ready to work and do something different to change our School and restore its former glory. This will happen when we give more than money,we need to mobilize and organise ourselves that we give of our time and do actual work at the school. I mean a big Nkhaboss day. This place gave us a wonderfull foundation we need to give it our seriousness ,beyond just talk and emails. I am Thomas Edgar Banda.

My suggestion is that we call for a meeting. Strategize on the areas we can start from. I know that we cant solve all the problems overnight but we can priotize.

I suggest that The Headmaster be contacted. He needs to be encouraged to place an advert in the paper for at least a week. The message must be inviting Nkhaboss alumini to a maiden get together at the SCHOOL with the purpose of appreciating the sorry state of the school and therefore brainstorming on remedial measures to save the school. At the same time, the Headmaster must share with us the efforts the school is making in order to survive and perhaps get out of the dire state. The Headmaster must sound the horn and the rest of us (at least those that can manage) will certainly favourably respond. The minutes of the meeting maybe shared via Nkhaboss forum and action may follow.

 

It must be noted that there maybe two areas of focus: Infrastructure decay and lack of Tools and equipment (learning aids).

 

He must further, on a lighter note share with us how the school is performing in relation to the other schools , What his plans are etc

Its a good idea but i would suggest we have chapters to carter for each the regions and whatever is discussed in each of these can be shared, the chapters could also frame up fund raising mechanisms to target specific challenges. It would be limiting for  alumni from other regions to travel to N-Bay
Lets have for starters,the Northern Region chapter meet @ Nkhaboss while the rest should follow suit in their respective chapters upon receipt of an update from the Northern Chapter
