Hi guys! Let me know if anyone may be interested in sharing a freight truck delivery of the following for the coming season:

McEnroe Organic Potting Soil - (usually delivered to City Green mid February)
Nolts Produce and Greenhouse Supply - (usually delivered to City Green early March)
Rainflo Irrigation Supply - (usually delivered to City Green early March)

I am happy to coordinate orders and help unload.

Hey all,

To add to Henry’s list, we also receive a bulk order of organic fertilizer to City Green’s farm in Mount Olive in late March/early April if anyone is interested. The fertilizer that we order is called Chick Magic, it's a 5-3-2 organic approved poultry manure (it's pelleted, easy to apply by hand or a cone spreader, works really well for veggies, and is the cheapest organic source of NPK we've found!) We order 1 Ton sling bags, which as of last year were about $420 each plus shipping, but depending on how much you would want it’s easy enough to divide slings into smaller amounts (each 50# bag would be around $11).

We order from FS Growmark in Bloomsbury, NJ and they also carry 50# bags of organic sulfate of potash for K and organic bone meal for P, I think these are around $40 per bag. They probably have other amendments as well.

And if you haven’t used fertilizer before/want to know more about calculating NPK by crop or by acre based on a soil test let me know! :)

Hey!

I’m in for McEnroe potting soil (took the drive up last year, scenic, and unnecessary) and definitely Nolts. I need to work out my budget, and will decide on fertilizer.

Henry, how do you want to coordinate orders? I’m happy to help Unload once delivery arrives etc (I’m local, and that helps)

Thanks everyone!

Hey!

Henry - Mark and I from Hawthorne Avenue Farm would like to share a freight truck delivery for supplies from Nolts Produce and Greenhouse Supply and/or Rainflo Irrigation Supply. We are looking to get black poly, connectors for our irrigation system, and woven ground cover. Would you be able to link me or tell me the name of the ground cover you plant in at City Green?
For anyone in Newark - We have a big truck that can transport things back to Newark, and it wouldn't be a problem to drop things off at another farm in the area.

All - The nonprofit we are connected to, Greater Newark Conservancy, picked up a bunch of evergreens, shrubs, and other perennials from a supplier yesterday. We are in the process of dividing it up, and then we are interested in giving the rest to others. More details to come. Let me know if there is any interest.

Great!  When it comes time to place orders, I imagine we can just communicate it with the sales rep and let them know your order will ship with the City Green order.  I think McEnroe, Nolts, and Rainflo all out-source their deliveries with freight trucking companies so they should be able to process the orders separately and just pack them and ship it out all together.  I can call them before we place orders to confirm if they can do that.

Growmark might be the only one that does their own deliveries (Do you know Joe?)

We'll likely have our McEnroe order ready by early to mid Feb and Nolts and Rainflo early in March.

Hey Shannon,

Great, happy to coordinate the Nolts and Rainflo orders.
I use the woven landscape fabric from Rainflo and we burn holes into it.  4' wide is what we use for our 30" beds. #GC4 - Landscape Fabric - (1) 4'x300' roll $58/ea

Hey Everyone!

I will be placing City Green's McEnroe, Nolts, and Rainflo orders this Thursday 2/3.  If you have any orders from these suppliers that require freight shipping, let me know this week and we can coordinate getting them on the same trucks!

I think the best way will be for you guys to just call in your orders on Thursday as well and they will tell you know whether your order will ship UPS or Freight. if it requires freight shipping then you will let them know you would like it to ship together with the City Green order to 171 Grove Street, Clifton, NJ 07013.

For Nolts and Rainflo, if you are just getting smaller items, they will ship quicker just through UPS ground.

Let me know if you plan on participating in this or if you have any questions!

Thanks,
Henry Anderson
