A Prayer and Pledge for Real Change

I believe this election represents a new and open door for
change.
However, President-elect Obama will face tremendous pressure and
obstacles in pursuing an agenda that addresses the moral
imperatives to overcome poverty, develop renewable energy,
responsibly withdraw from Iraq, and dramatically reduce the
number of abortions.
Presidential leadership is an important part of societal change,
but I believe we must all commit to do our part. That's why I've
made the personal pledge to pray for our new president and
mobilize to hold him accountable to his promises.
I believe the faith community can play a new role - bringing
people together on the biggest moral issues of our time, even
across old political divisions. Will you join me in signing the
