Stand up to ruin the appetite for Occupation! Stand up for the people of Gaza!

Over the past month, huge protests have erupted around the world to support the people of Gaza in the face of the massive campaign of devastation by Israeli forces that killed over 1300 Palestinians, one-third of them children. This movement is continuing the political pressure to support Palestine even in the aftermath of the recent "ceasefire" that Israel has reportedly already broken. Israel's general siege on Gaza has not stopped, as seen in the current blockades of construction supplies into Gaza to rebuild homes, schools, and hospitals, etc.

These apartheid conditions on the Palestinian people are given full political and economic support by the U.S. government, with added ongoing pressure by such groups as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). This Thursday night, AIPAC will have its annual benefit dinner where New York politicians and Zionists will be rubbing elbows over $1,500 plates while most of Gaza is still in ruins.

We want to come in full force and ruin their appetite.

Join a lively student and community protest this Thursday at 6pm outside the AIPAC dinner at the Times Square Marriott Marquis Hotel. The people of Gaza must not be forgotten.

Student and Community Rally Against AIPAC Dinner at Marriott Marquis Hotel on January 29, 2009 at 6:00 PM
---------------------------------------------------------
(January 27, 2009) Break the Siege on Gaza Coalition's Students Committee is calling a rally against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's annual fundraising dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel this Thursday.  At $1,500-a-plate minimum, this dinner allows AIPAC to continue its aggression on the Palestinian people by monetary and political support to the Israeli and U.S. government and their militaries.

We call on students and all people of conscience to rally against this offensive fundraiser.  While AIPAC dines at the Marquis Hotel, tens of thousands of the people in Gaza who have been displaced yet again are searching for homes, for relatives, for bodies and for aid.  In a little over three weeks, over 1,300 Gazans were killed, 5,500 injured, and more than 28,000 homes were destroyed.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who will be one of the dinner guests, claims to represent all New Yorkers and all Americans in his support for Israel.  We demand that he acknowledge the thousands of Americans that rally for Gaza and Palestine throughout this entire nation and reject his unconditional support of Israel.

We the Students of the Break the Siege on Gaza Coalition, as well as many organizations and individuals, demand the complete withdrawal of Israel from Gaza, the stop of U.S. aid to Israel, the Palestinians' right to return to their homes and land, their right to resist the occupation, and their right for self-determination.  We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and all those that counter occupation and racism throughout the world.

The Students Committee is part of Break the Siege on Gaza Coalition (BSG), which consists of diverse community and grassroots organizations united for Gaza and Palestine.
