The Rowan University Intramural Sports Department welcomes any student official interested in becoming a better basketball official. For the 5th year in a row, we have been fortunate to host an educational and hands-on clinic with the help of some great professional and student clinicians.
Want to get a jump start on your student officials training in basketball? Send them to the 5th annual Rowan Regional Basketball Clinic at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ on Saturday, January 31st .
We have developed over 120 student officials from various institutions in the region on proper officiating procedures and mechanics and hope you take this opportunity to enhance your student referees' basketball officiating knowledge.

Each official will receive a clinic t-shirt, fox40 whistle, lanyard, breakfast and lunch. All attendees will receive group and individual instruction and feedback.
This basketball clinic will focus on the proper mechanics of officiating basketball. Although rules knowledge is essential to knowing basketball officiating, the focus of this clinic is knowing where to go, how to communicate with fellow officials and players, and what mechanics will help to insure a great foundation to officiating in your intramural basketball season.
2-person mechanics will be reviewed in the classroom as well as on the court. Individuals interested in learning 3-person mechanics may ask for instruction.
Each official that registers by the deadline will be guaranteed a full game to officiate, with evaluation from qualified clinicians/evaluators. The clinic is limited to the first 36 students registered to insure personalized instruction. The clinic will run from 9am - 5pm.
Cost is $25 per official. Forms and payments submitted later than January 27th deadline will be charged $30 per official.

We are looking to cap the clinic to the first 36 students registered and we will be looking for clinicians to help with the day. We’ve had some great clinicians (collegiate and high school certified) in the past and there is also an opportunity for GA’s or students that have officiated in a Regional/Extramural tournament to help with the clinic. Check-in will be on the Saturday from 8:00am – 9:00am. Registered student officials will get in-the-class instruction, on-court training, and at least 1 basketball game, where they will be evaluated and given feedback. Each student needs to wear black shorts/pants and athletic footwear. Stripes also should be brought, but if the students are unable to supply them, they may be checked out from our intramural department.
