The National Network for Youth invites you to a Congressional Briefing in collaboration with Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) and Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD)
Invest Early, End Chronic Homelessness:
A Briefing on the Homeless Children and Youth Act
Wednesday, March 11, 2026 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 106 | 50 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002
Homelessness often begins before age 25, and without early, targeted support, it too often becomes chronic in adulthood. Children, youth, and families are shut out of existing homelessness services due to the lack of one aligned federal definition of homelessness.
Join NN4Y for a briefing on how the Homeless Children and Youth Act (S.1667/H.R.6403) closes gaps, improves coordination, and ensures those experiencing more invisible forms of homelessness are able to access what they need. All of these policy changes are critical to preventing and reducing chronic adult homelessness.
Hear directly from young people with lived experience about the unnecessary challenges they faced when trying to access help and frontline providers about what works, what doesn’t, and what Congress can do now.
Special Remarks: Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD)
Speakers:
Amber Matthews | NN4Y National Youth Advisory Council Member | Michigan
Marcellus Seals | NN4Y National Youth Advisory Council Member | Oklahoma
John Stone | Director of Advancement | Children’s Aid Society of Alabama | Birmingham, AL
