Another RTI Success story! The Tahsildar apparently went to the house of the widow and subsequently delivered the widow pension with lot of respect and "royal treatment". This could be used an excellent sample of RTI application for similar scenarios faced by our members or any citizen who seeks RTI help to obtain fundamental rights, payments, certificates etc. on time, without the bribe or delay. Our ED, Mr.Bhanu Kumar has used similar line of stringent questions to evince timely answers preceded by even more timely action in getting the problem fixed. We have to note that the MLA's recommendation letter didn't work the magic, whereas RTI Act has done it.
There are quite a few beneficiaries of his RTI expertise in these groups itself, and we encourage as many of you who have a pending govt dept issue in your household, street, village, city etc. to apply for information through RTI and enable/demand better functioning of the government machinery; after all we are the "Masters" of it-:)
