1. Marco Lima Joined the Fine Speakers Bureau
I am pleased to announce that Marco Lima has joined the Fine Speakers
Bureau.
Marco is an Advanced Financial Advisor at Ameriprise Financial Services,
Inc. He has many years of experience delivering various courses and
educational seminars in front of audiences of all sizes. He started his
career as an investor relations executive Incepta Group in 2001. Today,
Marco's main focus is providing financial education to individuals in
our community by developing strategies to help them reach their goals
and dreams. He uses Ameriprise's unique approach to financial planning

The ability to excel as a presenter who achieves outstanding results is
an essential skill, whether you conduct meetings, give small-group
presentations or deliver keynote speeches. You will learn effective
strategies and techniques for preparing and delivering speeches that are
effective, present a message that sticks, and focus on your purpose.

Understanding the elements of a speech is the first step to speaking
with confidence. Participate in group exercises that help you to feel

skills. Practice writing your own speech. After your presentation,
listen to an evaluation in a warm supportive atmosphere. This program
will give you the practice and tools to improve your communication skills.

3. Story: Bad runway
Dear Fine Speakers Bureau,
some time ago I was a passenger on an airplane that was coming in
for a landing. As we neared the airport, the other passengers and I
started to realize that we were traveling much faster than normal. I
could feel the anxiety level in the plane start to rise. Suddenly, the
airplane hit the ground with great force and then began taxiing down the
runway.
Shaken, we passengers sat in stunned silence until the captain's voice
came over the sound system: "Take that, you bad, bad runway!" We all
erupted in laughter. With a humorous viewpoint and a shared laugh, an
uncomfortable situation had become bearable.

* Be honest.
* Let them know you’re sorry for what happened.
* Explain how the problem occurred.
* Address what steps you have taken to ensure the problem does not
happen again.
* Thank them for bringing the problem to your attention.
* Offer them an incentive to return to your business if you deem it
appropriate.
