WOW, The 6th Annual Asbury Music Awards is back once again. The Asbury
Music Company and The Stone Pony will be presenting this years gala event
for the New Jersey music scene and mainly for the musical acts which have
played the Asbury Metro area. We’ve moved our location from the Fastlane to
the legendary Stone Pony. Our move to the Stone Pony was a natural one to
host this year’s event. The Stone Pony is the areas premiere venue for
national touring acts, and has a rich history of legendary shows.
The nominations were chosen from musical acts which perform in the Asbury
metro area excluding national headline acts. Winners are selected from a
panel of industry professionals based in the Asbury area.
THE GOLDEN MICROPHONE TROPHY will be presented to the winners by a panorama
of celebrities from the local music, media, sponsors and the art world.
Twenty - four awards will be presented ranging from Top Female Vocalist to
Top Hard Act, and the Living Legend Award which is presented to the person
who has worked hard to keep live original music alive in the Asbury metro
area. Our non-musical award is The Best Thing To happen 97/98 always a fun
award.
This year’s hosts are Michelle Amabile (DJ from FM 106.3 WHTG) and Al Muzer
(The Aquarian Weekly). Our official website is http://www.bne.com, the site
