Subject: NJSFA Reimbursement Increase

In case you have not seen this yet, please see the forwarded information from Robert Ordway, President, NJFSFA.
JK

At the July meeting of the Executive Committee of the NJSFA, the Executive Committee members voted to increase one aspect of the Health Care Reimbursement program.  Starting August 1st, reimbursement to Firefighters or qualified retired Firefighters in nursing home facilities increases to an up to reimbursement of $12,000.00 per month.

The reimbursement for Firefighters and qualified retired Firefighters receiving care at home, an adult day care facility, or an assisted living facility, remains at an up to amount of $6,000.00 per month.  The reimbursement for spouses and surviving spouses of qualified Firefighters receiving care remains at up to $2,000.00 per month.

The only change is to those eligible Firefighters that are receiving care in a full time licensed nursing home.  This does not include the New Jersey Firemen’s Home which is already fully funded by the Insurance tax.

If you have any questions, contact your county’s Executive Committeeperson or the Field Examiner.

Fraternally yours,

Robert F. Ordway
