Is it possible to generate JsDoc style documentation from the IDL
files?

Yes, o3d does it. You can look at some of the details in that file: http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrome/trunk/src/o3d/documentation/build_docs.py?revision=34095&content-type=text/plain but in a nutshell, you add your docs in the idl, and you use the jsheader generator that will generate JS files with the API and doc in it, that you can feed into jsdoc.
