I noticed a lot of these when I listed the ZFS datasets:

$ zfs list | grep rpool/root/nixos
rpool/root/nixos                                                                        51.0G   382G  34.7G  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/004d474cc4cdf4e11de244062b5227ebefe5874c7b595a8d0be040c91deaaa78        136K   382G   211M  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/0114083826a163c8b69300d7d4d626b940a137d9b83d539da184569dc9000793       41.3M   382G   285M  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/022a07b1bd803e09033e148747ec32a5f75c8d5f3c63fb71b2d10b65434b5f68        120K   382G   218M  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/03e2fd02e7660eb94308738d6941976b1bd7471ad2488d6694cec7ce36df53e9        128K   382G   218M  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/04de7d2574134f8242fb0bd8c10065dfeaf5010eb666081cb4f6994dea3e63ad       6.21M   382G   212M  legacy
rpool/root/nixos/04de7d2574134f8242fb0bd8c10065dfeaf5010eb666081cb4f6994dea3e63ad-init   216K   382G   208M  legacy
... (about 400 more)

Any ideas what they are and how they came to be? (And do I need them? If not, what is the best way to get rid of them?)

Hi Mark,

I don't think this is NixOS's doing. Are you maybe using docker with the
zfs backend?
